Mental Test
This 23-month old bitch was very playful. She likes to move and showed lots of temperament. She was very attentive during the entire test. Her abundant prey drive was clearly visible. She likes to carry objects and retrieves them with joy. She exhibited a good will to please and a close and trusting bond with her owner. When confronted with strangers, she behaved friendly and confident. She was unimpressed when turned into the side position and walking through an alley of humans. She displayed no fear of gunshots. She showed good resilience when completing the visual and acoustic course.

“As there was only one bitch in out A litter it was clear from the start who would be staying with us. However, had there been more than one girl I´m quite sure that we would have still chosen her. Élin is a spitting image of her great father Rev. Being as bold as her brothers her special love to humans became obvious right from the start. Nothing has changed ever since. Quite different from what could be expected from this breed she huddles against anyone who does not actively put her down. But who really can resist this charm? ;-)
Élin is passionate with every cell of her body and her entire soul. Whenever there is an upcoming adventure or even better a chance to work she is at the far front. Her physical radius of activity is large both, during work and walk. She is absolutely convinced that she knows everything better. This is exactly the type of attitude we need for Search and Rescue work. However, during field work this leaves me with great challenges. There is no doubt Élin is a demanding bitch who needs clear and timely orders. Yet, she likes to cooperate and her intrinsic motivation makes it easy to handle her.
 

Élin is absolutely devoted to her pack. Undoubtedly, she has a very positive influence on her mother. These two have been playing and cuddling every single day. Every one who has more than one Toller at home knows how delightful this can be. Also the affection between Sly and her has developed remarkably so that we find them lying close together licking each others ears and faces especially towards the day´s end. With Kjell the situation is different. After all they have reached a ceasefire, which Élin at times likes to ignore. This is due to her general trend towards an excessive lifestyle. Given this character you can imagine how hard it is to make her believe that less can often be more. But we are working on it… ;-)
She is our delight - every day. She is much more of a dog that I ever dared to dream of and we are very much looking forward to everything to come.”
